So, the other day, I had this wild idea to try and remake a PRADA Bowler Bag. Yep, you heard that right. I saw it on the official flagship store, and thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First, I started by looking up a bunch of pictures of the bag online. I needed to get a good look at it from every angle. I scoured the internet, finding all sorts of images and even some videos. I saved a bunch of these to my computer so I could refer back to them.
Then, I gathered my materials. This was a bit of a hodgepodge. I had some old leather scraps lying around from past projects, and I managed to find some similar-looking fabric at a local store. I also grabbed some sturdy zippers, some metal rings, and a bunch of other odds and ends that I thought might come in handy. Let me tell ya, my workspace looked like a tornado had hit it.
Next up, I started sketching. I’m no artist, but I did my best to draw out the different pieces of the bag. I used the pictures I had saved as a reference. I drew and redrew, erasing and adjusting until I had something that resembled the PRADA bag. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a start.
Once I had my sketches, I started cutting. I carefully cut out the leather and fabric pieces, following the lines I had drawn. It was slow going, and I definitely made some mistakes. Some pieces were too small, others too big, and I had to redo a few of them. But, hey, that’s part of the process, right?
After cutting, I moved on to sewing. This was the real challenge. I used my trusty old sewing machine. I started with the smaller pieces, sewing them together to create the different sections of the bag. Then, I began to attach these sections, slowly but surely forming the body of the bag. It was tough, let me tell you. There were times when the needle got stuck, or the thread broke, or I sewed something on backward and had to rip it out and start over.
But I kept at it. I added the zippers, attached the handles, and added the metal rings for the strap. I even managed to add a little inside pocket, just like the real PRADA bag.
Finally, after hours of work, I finished. And you know what? It actually looked pretty good! Sure, it wasn’t exactly like the one in the flagship store. It was a bit rough around the edges, and some of the stitches were a little wonky, but it was unmistakably a bowler bag. And it was MY bowler bag.

- Mistakes are inevitable. Don’t be afraid to mess up and try again.
