Well, well, well, looky here! You wanna know ’bout that fancy Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag, huh? I seen it, that Prada bag, shiny and new. It’s a small one, they call it “Galleria,” and it’s made of that Saffiano, whatever that is. Sounds kinda like a disease to me, but it looks tough, like it could survive a tornado. And it’s a special edition, too, I hear. Bet it costs more than my old cow Bessie.
This here is a remake, they tell me. Online store’s got it, all kinds of fancy bags there. Now, I ain’t never bought nothin’ online. I like to see what I’m gettin’, feel it with my own two hands. But folks these days, they love that internet shoppin’. They say it’s easy. Maybe it is, maybe it ain’t. I reckon it’s like orderin’ a husband from a catalog – you never quite know what you’re gonna get.
That Prada, it’s an old name. They been around a long time, I reckon since before I was a spring chicken. They make all sorts of things. Handbags, shoes, even clothes. I heard they started in Italy, wherever that is. Sounds far away. They say it’s a “luxury” brand. Luxury! What in tarnation does that even mean? I guess it means expensive. Real expensive. Like, sell-your-firstborn expensive.
- This Prada bag, this small Galleria, it’s got handles.
- You can carry it like a little briefcase.
- It has pockets inside, I hear.
- They used to make these kinds of bags brown or red, but I saw black ones, too.
I seen some folks with them Prada bags. They walk around like they’re better than everyone else, noses in the air. I say, a bag’s a bag. It’s what’s inside that counts. You could put a diamond in a burlap sack, and it’s still a diamond. And you could put a pile of manure in a Prada bag, and it’s still just manure. Remake or not, it’s still a bag. This is a special edition, so it’s a little different.
I remember when I was a girl, we didn’t have fancy bags. We used feed sacks, mostly. Strong, they were. Good for carryin’ just about anything. Potatoes, onions, even the occasional live chicken. You wouldn’t catch me puttin’ a chicken in one of them Prada bags. No sir. That’s just askin’ for trouble. And they’re small. I need a big bag. This Galleria is too small. How am I supposed to put all my stuff in that small bag?
These young folks today, they don’t know what hard work is. They spend all their money on these fancy things. They should save their money, put it away for a rainy day. You never know when you might need it. ‘Course, they don’t listen to old me. What do I know? I’m just an old lady who’s seen a thing or two.
I guess if you got the money, and you want a small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag, well, that’s your business. But me, I’ll stick to my old feed sack. It may not be fancy, but it gets the job done. It’s like that old sayin’, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” And my feed sack ain’t broke. Not yet, anyways.
This special edition Prada bag, it’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. I heard they even have bags made of nylon now. Nylon! What will they think of next? Back in my day, nylon was for stockings, not for bags. And these new bags, they hold their value, they say. Like gold or somethin’. Imagine that. A bag that’s worth more than a gold tooth. This remake Prada bag is like that.
I still don’t rightly understand this whole “online store” thing. How can you trust somethin’ you can’t touch? It’s like buyin’ a pig in a poke. You just don’t know what you’re gettin’ until it’s too late. But I guess that’s the way of the world now. Everything’s movin’ so fast. Too fast, if you ask me. I like this small Prada bag. It’s cute. But not for me. I’ll stick to my old ways. It’s what is in the bag that counts. The Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition bag is out of stock now, I hear. Maybe that’s for the best. It was probably too expensive anyway.
Anyways, that’s all I gotta say about that Prada bag. It’s a fancy thing, for sure. But it ain’t for everyone. Especially not for me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. They don’t care ’bout no Prada bags. They just want their feed. And that’s the way it should be. Simple. Honest. Like life should be. The Galleria is nice, though, even if it’s a special edition and it’s a remake. A bag is a bag. Prada or not.
