Okay, so, I’ve been obsessed with this Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag lately, the medium-sized one. You know, the one they have at the official flagship store? Yeah, that’s the one. I finally decided to remake it. It’s such a classic, right?
First things first, I gathered all my materials. I managed to find some pretty good quality Saffiano leather. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you! Then, there are the tools. I got my trusty leather-working tools out, the whole set. This is a serious project. I wouldn’t trust it to just anyone, you know?
I carefully studied the bag. I looked up pictures online, zoomed in on every detail, took notes on the dimensions, the stitching, everything. The top handles, the detachable shoulder strap, the gold hardware, the little keyring… I wanted to get it all right. Especially that signature triangle logo! I read somewhere that Saffiano is actually genuine leather that’s been treated and embossed. And no patina will show up as time goes by. Interesting, huh?
- First, I started by cutting the leather. This is always the most nerve-wracking part. One wrong cut and you’ve ruined the whole piece! Luckily, I managed to do it perfectly. Phew!
- Then came the stitching. This bag has a lot of it! I spent hours meticulously stitching the pieces together, making sure each stitch was even and secure. My fingers were sore, but it was worth it.
- Next, I attached the hardware. I found some really nice gold-toned pieces that matched the original pretty well. Getting the logo right was tricky, but I think I nailed it.
Finally, after days of work, it was done! My very own remake of the Prada Galleria bag. It’s not perfect, of course, but I’m so proud of it. It looks amazing, and I learned so much in the process. It’s not quite the same as buying it from the official store for, like, over 500,000, but hey, it’s my own creation! I saw the price tag online… crazy, right?
Anyway, I just wanted to share my little project with you guys. Maybe it’ll inspire someone else to try their hand at remaking their favorite designer bag. It’s a lot of work, but it’s so rewarding! You can also find some cheap products available on some websites, maybe around $4? That’s definitely a big bargain! I’m just happy with how mine turned out, and I can’t wait to start using it. What do you think?
