Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. You know, the big one. Everyone’s talking about how it’s a “remake” and all that. Got me curious, so I started digging around.
First, I went straight to the source, a fancy Prada store. Man, those places are intimidating! But I put on my best shoes and went in. I saw the bag, all right. Huge, just like they said. The price tag? Let’s just say it made my eyes water a bit.
- Size: It’s definitely big. I mean, you could fit a small dog in there, not that you should.
- Material: This “Saffiano” leather. Feels tough, kind of textured. They told me it’s treated in some special way.
- Look: Classic, I guess you’d say. Simple design, but it screams “expensive.”
Then I went to check the shops which sale it. Not much to find, but I found that they seem to promote the discounts about clothings and bags.
After that, I dove into the internet. Found out this Saffiano stuff is a big deal. Apparently, it’s super durable, which is good ’cause I’m not exactly gentle with my bags. It is genuine leather but it’s unlike full-grain leather. Also learned that the “Galleria” name comes from some fancy shopping place in Milan where Prada started. Kind of a cool story, I guess.
Next, I started asking around. Talked to some friends, folks online, anyone who seemed to know about bags. Seems like everyone has an opinion on this Prada Galleria. Some say it’s worth the hype, others say it’s just a status symbol. And to be honest with that price, I can not try to make it by myself.
So, I kept digging. Looked at pictures, read reviews, even watched some videos. I wanted to see if this bag was really worth all the fuss. Is it a good remake? Is it practical? Does it really last as long as they say?
Finally, after all this, I decided to remake it. Not the exact same, of course, but something inspired by it. I got some leather, not Saffiano, that would be way too much money. And I used my grandma’s old sewing machine. It was a lot of work, let me tell you. Cutting, sewing, trying to figure out how it all goes together.
After days of sweating and cursing, I finally finished. My bag, it’s not a Prada, but it’s mine. It’s big, it’s sturdy, and I made it myself. And you know what? I’m pretty darn proud of it. It may not be a “remake” of that fancy Prada Galleria, but it’s got its own story, and that’s worth something, right? At least I made it, it was so hard for me but I made it.
