Okay, so I decided to remake the PRADA Re-Edition 1995 Chaine Re-Nylon Tote Bag. I saw it online, and it looked pretty cool, plus I wanted a new project.

First, I gathered all my materials. I needed some Re-Nylon fabric, which is basically recycled nylon, sounds fancy, right? I managed to find some online. Then, I needed some gold-tone chains for the straps and a zipper. I already had some zippers laying around from old projects, so I just needed the chains and some other hardware stuff.

  • Found some black Re-Nylon fabric online.
  • Bought gold-tone chains and other hardware from a local craft store.
  • Used zippers I already had.

Next, I started cutting the fabric. The bag has a square shape, so that was pretty straightforward. It is kind of soft and puffy. It looked like it was quilted, so I decided to do that too. I sewed the fabric in a quilted pattern. It took a while, but I think it turned out okay.

After that, I put the bag together. I sewed the sides and the bottom, then I attached the zipper. I also added a little logo badge at the front to make it look more like the real PRADA bag. My sewing machine was definitely working overtime!

Then came the straps. I attached the gold-tone chains to the top of the bag. This was a bit tricky, but I figured it out. I also made a little leather charm to hang on the bag. I didn’t have real leather, so I used some faux leather I had.

Final Touches

Finally, I added all the hardware. The bag was basically done! It was a lot of work, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not exactly like the real PRADA bag, but it’s close enough. It is definitely a statement piece.

I’m not a professional or anything, just did this for fun. I guess anyone could do it if they put their mind to it. Sewing is not rocket science, it’s just a matter of putting one piece after another. It’s a pretty cool feeling to wear something you made yourself, you know? So, yeah, that’s my story of remaking the PRADA bag. Hope you guys liked it!
